Government:
Thornlam is the seat of power for the State. It is here that elected officials gather to operate the day-to-day functions of the government. The city itself is governed by a city council led by a chairman selected by the council itself.

As the Capital of the nation, there is a heavy city-guard presence in this well-fortified city.
There are approximately 1,000 members of the city guard (known as The Righteous), with the city being able to muster a militia of 5,000 if needed. (They have never needed to.)
The Walls are large and sturdy stone walls. They are topped with frequent guard towers, along with various artillery (Ballista, Cannons, Mortars)
It is law within the city that all weapons must remained sheathed or stowed, with the only exception being The Righteous.

Outer North District:
The Fallen Star
The Fallen Star is a wagon sized rock that is thought to have fallen from the heavens. It landed in the city, and was too heavy for non-magical methods of removal. Before the appropriate magic could be utilized, however, the locals turned into a cultural landmark. It remains there today, cordoned off by a simple hemp rope and the respect of the locals.
East Side
The Springs
An onsen with proven magical healing benefits. They also offer smaller personal baths that can preserve a corpse long enough for more powerful healing magics to be used.
Southern Sun District
The Ever Sun
There is an ancient enchantment placed upon this district that results in it being perpetually high noon, with a never-ending sun shining brightly.
West End
The War Room
A powerful arcanist has created a shop where patrons can enter a magical simulation putting them in the shoes of a soldier fighting on the front lines against the Cultists of Bane.
Middle City
Celraisk Heights
The Agate Gate
A large gate made entirely of agate that is thought to be able to open a portal directly to some of the deepest levels of the abyss
Datol Points
The Bottomless Pit
A well that goes down further than anyone has been able to discover.
There are various large caves that break off from the main shaft, with its equal shares of treasures and horrors.
Many adventurers have gone down the well in search of their fortune. Few return, and even less are willing to talk about what they witnessed.
Qussod Town
Underdark Alley
Several city blocks are under an enchantment creating perpetual night, allowing for citizens with light sensitivity to roam freely without hurting their eyes.
Skrulkin Stretch
Urban Legend tells of a lizzard-folk named Skullkin who robbed an alchemy shop. During his escape, he drank a potion that somehow resulted in his tail growing and stretching across the entire district. Skrullin was ultimately caught when officials followed his tail back to his hideout.
Erramaues Alley
One of the founding fathers of the nation, Erramaues Kalkinious, was born in a small house here. The district is named for him.
Nion Corner
This district was one home to a mad scientist who was determined to unlock the secrets behind those who can tap into a power that turned them into extremely proficient combatants.
"Under" City
The Inn of Indulgence:
A veritable house of hedonism. One can find any and all forms of pleasure here.
The inn has a special license that allows it to do pretty much anything. Clerics are on staff to resurrect those who don't survive the debauchery.
East Scrip
This area, famous for its many theaters, was known as "East Script". During a lightning storm, the "T" was blown off.
